[Exhibits] The Valley of the apartment in Marseille

Early September and to celebrate my new job full time, against a part-time job before, my beloved has wanted to invite me in a very famous restaurant to taste my first bouillabaisse. For fourteen years I left Paris intramural, I did succumb to the lure of bouillabaisse ! Go us on a Saturday morning for Marseille, more precisely in the Valley of the apartment. Everything is a discovery, I know the places or the dish. Marseille is really not a city we love, We find it always messy and unfortunately, often dirty.

My beloved has booked at Fisher, famous restaurant make the best traditional bouillabaisse in France (and Marseille will tell you the world, or even of the universe !). His fame is more to do, three generations have occurred since 1952 and the stars of passage on Marseille come taste this specialty. This is a good and beautiful restaurant. I'm leaving under the best auspices for my first bouillabaisse !

The Valley of the apartment is a small traditional fishing really very charming. I am immediately seduced by places, It's quaint and authentic. The charm operates and the desire to show off also ! The name of Apartment comes from “Alfa”, who said “auffo” in provencal. It is a perennial plant growing in the Mediterranean and used to make the pulp to paper, or in the case of this small port, weaving ropes, mats and nets for fishing in the nineteenth century.

There are about 50 small huts of fishermen colored surrounding the port, as well as fishing vessels. If MrSirban already knew, He is delighted to see my eyes sparkle, We find the place so cute ! If everything Marseille could be so, We'd appreciate it a lot more.

What say you about the bouillabaisse ? The fish we were presented by the server before they are cooked. The picture shows all of the fish entering our bouillabaisse for two people. Five kinds composes it : red mullet, turbot, Vives, rascasse and galinette. Fish are cooked in a broth made from tomatoes, Saffron, of Espelette pepper… Bouillabaisse is served in two steps : in the first place, the broth of fish as an introduction ; then, the fish served in net and dip in broth, which also allows to keep them warm. Croutons, rust and the aioli are served as an accompaniment to be put in or eaten with fish broth. I literally loved. I don't know what it is elsewhere, but this first experiment was a great success. Our palates were delighted, the flavors are varied and fine. MrSirban had already been at Fisher some time ago and he equally enjoyed this second time !

After a delicious meal (but olfactory, We felt the fish both !), We continued our stroll in the Valley. All beachfront, my man gave me an enjoyment to a man who was taking the sea air and strictly nothing of our rascality too focused on the distant horizon and the islands of Frioul ! We found a lovely and picturesque place in contrast with the often negative image of a violent Marseille, dilapidated and unsanitary. We visited during the day, between noon and 15 hours, and had no sense of insecurity, on the contrary. We spent a memorable day sipping a delicious bouillabaisse. A remake without hesitation ! If there is a corner to see, This is it, We were delighted.
