[South Africa] Safari, exhibitionist in the jeep

On our trip to South Africa, We had the incredible opportunity to realize a dream : go on a photo safari in the Kruger Park. The wildlife is very present and the animals are clearly in their territory. Kruger National Park is a vast reserve of wild animals covering 20 000 Km². The animals are changing in total freedom, in their natural environment. We stayed in a lodge private near the Sabie River.

Three days of intense safaris, full of adrenaline and happiness, during which we tracked down wild animals in order to observe them in their natural environment and photograph them. I must specify : photograph them. We were armed only with photo gear : a Nikon DSLR and a telephoto lenses ! It's so exciting to see the wildlife in its natural environment. Nothing to do with a zoo, where it is parked in prison and totally dependent on the goodwill of his trainer and the boss of the Park.

On the other hand, schedules sting a little : survey 5 h and departure at 6: 00 with a breakfast’ in the gut, return at 9:30, where we have a second breakfast. At 10: 00, There is the safari on foot accompanied by a store armed with a rifle, if ever an animal came to break bread. Then, at 16:30, back to safari until 20:30.

Each is a jeep safari, driven by a ranger with a tracker. It lasted a little more than 4 hours between. We did two per day for four days. Loved it ! Each output safari is different. If we come across a lot of impalas, other animals are very hard to see as the big cats (Lions, Leopards…), the elephants or rhinos. Between different safaris, We sleep, We breakfast, lunch, We taste, dinner ! For me, It's heaven on Earth : We eat all the time and great, We see incredible wildlife and… We can do a lot of rascality between food and safaris !

We took the opportunity to make a few strut your stuff in the jeep without getting caught rangers and trackers. While our store drove and looked around him all the time to show us the wild animals, I took the opportunity to show me. It was really not easy, but particularly exciting to show off so at the risk of getting caught at any moment, because he turned all the time to explain in English what you see : Wildlife, Flora, biodiversity, migration of animals… It was super interesting.

Zoos, It will be hard now. The animals are so happy in the nature. It reads in their eyes, This is reflected in their behavior. They are not the same : far from being passive waiting for life to happen, they enjoy every moment… between games and survival.

After seeing the wildebeest and Warthogs fun sets among the impalas, the lionesses take care of the young lions, the leopards move freely and giraffes cajole each other… with MrSirban, We want more to contribute to their imprisonment to satisfy our curiosity. We prefer to focus on backup systems in their natural biotope and so much worse if we never see pandas or pangolins in our life. We will not have this selfishness.
