[Exhib] Discovery of Montpellier

After a week of extreme psychological violence (a trial at the Assizes as a victim of kidnapping and attempted murder that left me with painful sequelae), MrSirban gave me a wonderful surprise : a romantic weekend to change your mind. We went where I wanted in a perimeter of 250 Miles ! My man suggested I Montpellier. Neither of us knowing the city, We went to his discovery !

I had the morale to zero, chaining bouts of crying on bouts of crying because of the trauma. From the announcement of the verdict (a great victory), the 10 November evening, we booked our room for the 11 and 12 November and dinner at an exotic restaurant. The rest would be done by feel ! The city is very nice, full of history, of nooks and crannies all more beautiful than the others. The architecture and many monumental squares give a singular soul. Near the restaurant, There is a small square behind the Saint-Roch Church.

As we have to trot a lot, I opted for a pair of compensated sneakers to be comfortable on the cobblestones and the pavement !

We tried to follow a plan given by the hotel, where we have been surrounded by what not to miss. But spot in Montpellier, It's not innate ! Without getting lost, be is left wandering. We stumbled by chance on the street of the iron arm, in calade, where I did not fail to show my charms to a gentleman who turned back while I showed my ass. We then went to hang out and make the exhibits on the Arc of triumph in Montpellier (Door Louis-quatorzieme). It was built in 1692 and is instead of a door of the ancient walls. It highlights the big fights led by Louis XIV, whose reign lasted 72 years : his victories against England, the Holy Roman Empire, Mons and Namur, but also the revocation of the edict of Nantes and the construction of the channel of the South.

It's very difficult to be seen, because there is the world : pedestrians and cars, but also policemen nearby, guarding the courthouse (the Green Gates right behind me). The Peyrou is a Royal square dedicated to Louis XIV. It resembles a public garden high range ! There is an equestrian statue of the Sun King and a former water tank, connected to an aqueduct. It dominates the whole Valley, because the buildings were limited in height so as not to spoil the landscape. It is a beautiful place and I couldn't resist the urge to myself in front of a couple in full discussion. I wonder if the gentleman has not captured something naughty was going on right under his nose !

We continued to follow the plan of the sights to see. This brought us to St. Peter's Cathedral, adjacent to the Faculty of medicine. Curious that we are, We're back in college and I would have liked to study in this kind of place, rather than in an old University dilapidated ! We are not all in the same boat when we are students…

It dates from the 12th century, It is the oldest college of medicine in activity worldwide. At the entrance, There is a statue of La Peyronie, who completed his university studies here. For the curious, we went to dinner at bouzou, a restaurant of exotic and African specialties. It can be surprising culinary experiences. It's neither gastronomic nor refined, It's potluck. I took my courage with both hands and tasted insects : mealworm, Scarab and cricket. Disgust spent, we must recognize that it has no taste, a bit of hazelnut. It's crispy. I also tasted the crocodile breeding, looks like chicken breast.

After a restful night, We had a delicious breakfast without my cell phone, who passed away that morning while I was taking a Snap. Fortunately, I save all the photos on a Cloud, otherwise I would have lost the exhibits made the day before. We then returned us around the city. We went to the discovery of the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle. A majestic square !

We then went to the side of the Babote tower. I wanted to see this old perimeter tower, which served as an astronomical observatory. Unfortunately, You can not visit and the courtyard has small restaurants. It's cute, but not essential to the visit.

We had read that you should not miss the garden of plants, we decided to go for a walk. We took a break at Place de la Canourgue, where we had a drink on the terrace : a draft beer for my Aimé and a Perrier for me. La Canourgue is so pretty that I could not resist the urge to show me !

The batteries recharged, We went to the garden of plants. In autumn, This probably isn't the best time to enjoy. Fortunately, it's mild. This Park seems to have stopped in the nineteenth century. The walk is bucolic and slightly melancholy, the garden is from another age. It's a pretty stroll !

We finished our tour of the gardens by the bamboo. It is incommensurate with that of Anduze, where I showed off last year (read the article), but it's still nice. Then we went to eat a Quick on the Place de la Comédie to 15 hours, then it was already time to go.

Two days passed quickly but we have done a world of good. This enabled us to turn the page, change of air, to be romantic and take full advantage of us. We discovered a dynamic city, majestic and unique. Could not do everything, but we loved what we saw ! If we have the opportunity, We'll come back with pleasure.
